Whilst sat in the corner of the lounge in the Glancynon, Alun decided to form the Welsh Whisky Company over a pint of beer with friends Tony James and Brian Morgan. They were discussing the fact that there were no Welsh distilleries left and thought it would be good to get some real Welsh Whiskey back into the market.

Penderyn Distillery is the only distillery in Wales and one of the smallest distilleries in the world. One of the few remaining independent distilleries, Penderyn takes its name from the old Welsh village in which it is located and nestles in the foothills of the ancient Brecon Beacons mountain range. The Distillery produces just one cask per day of the finest malted barley spirit, which, when matured, is recognised world wide as one of the finest malt whiskies.
